The Seven most alkaline fruits and vegetables to prevent and reverse all kinds of diseases and ailments.

SPINACH

All vegetables and especially green leafy vegetables should be consumed in abundance and especially spinach which is one of the bests because it´s easy to get and to add to different recipes like salads and so on and it´s delicious too. Baby spinach or fully grown spinach is very energizing, nutritious and highly alkalizing. Like all green vegies, spinach has a very high content in chlorophyll, is powerfully alkalizing and is a precursor of red blood cells.

It´s also very rich in vitamin K, vitamin A, manganese, folic acid, magnesium, iron, vitamin C, vitamin B2, calcium, potassium, vitamin E and dietary fiber. You won´t find any food on Earth as rich in nutrients as spinach so I encourage you to eat it every day. Add spinach to your favorite drink, soup or green smoothie.

KALE

kale alkaline careKale is another great leafy green star also known as leafy cabbage from the cruciferous family, widely accepted for its benefits as it’s very rich in antioxidants and possesses all kinds of detox properties. In the beginning it was less popular than spinach but now it´s becoming more and more popular and is considered one of the best superfoods ever. When prepared correctly it´s absolutely delicious. Eating kale two to three times per week will make you more alkaline. You can cook it or eat it raw otherwise.

The same as spinach, its content in vitamin K, vitamin A and vitamin C and folic Acid is very high; aswell as very rich in chlorophyll and therefore is a precursor of red blood cells increasing its quality, quantity, and raising hemoglobin and hematocrit levels.

Kale is a powerful anti-acid which contains at least four components called glucosinolates which will help block acids in the body. The human body transforms glucosinolates into alkalizing components that protect cells from metabolic and dietary acids that cause inflammation, diseases, ailments and chronic pain.

Kale also is shown to helps lower cholesterol levels significantly as it decreases metabolic acids in the body caused by diet.

CUCUMBER

The wonder of cucumber is that 95% of its content is water and you won´t find any other fruit like this with such a high content in water.

Because of this, cucumber is a highly hydrating fruit that also contains incredible amounts of antioxidants and minerals including lignans that have many health benefits. Cucumber also contains polyphenols with antioxidant properties that have been associated more frequently with cruciferous vegetables. Cucumbers also have shown to be powerful allies in helping the body in its natural detox process.

Cucumbers also contain adequate amounts of lariciresinol, pinoresinol and secoisolariciresinol, three lignans that have been widely studied and investigated in reducing cardiovascular diseases. The best thing about cucumbers is that they provide an excellent base for almost all alkaline soups, smoothies and juices.

In terms of nutrient content per serving, cucumbers also contain large amounts of vitamin K and vitamin C, and less vitamin A and B vitamins. Cucumbers also contain the following alkaline minerals: calcium, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium, selenium, copper, manganese, iron and zinc.

BROCOLI

Broccoli is a must cruciferous vegetable you should take on a daily basis. If you really want to be healthy, feel full of energy and vitality you should simply eat broccoli at least four times per week. It has been proven over and over again that broccoli has numerous health benefits and has incredibly powerful anti-inflammatory properties.

Broccoli is a great source of vitamins K and C, a good source of folate (folic acid) and also provides potassium and lots of fiber. – It helps build collagen, which forms body tissue and bone, helping heal cuts and wounds. Vitamin C is known to be a powerful antioxidant that protects the body from damaging free radicals.

This healthy fat won´t make you gain weight, on the contrary it will aid with weight loss. Avocado contains oleic acid (very rich in omega 9 fat being very similar to cold press olive oil) that helps decrease total cholesterol levels, while increasing  high density lipoproteins ( HDL) and lowering low density lipoproteins (LDL).

Oleic fatty acids also help protect the body from cardiovascular diseases, help reduce blood pressure, promote fat burning, help prevent type 2 diabetes, promote brain function, may help prevent ulcerative colitis, fight infections, promote skin repair and contain powerful antioxidants. These beneficial omega vegetable oils also help to speed up metabolism that´s why they actually help with weight loss. Avocado is now very popular amongst the healthy community and athletes.

CELERY

Celery, like cucumber, is another extraordinary alkaline vegetable with a very high content in water. One of the greatest benefits of celery too is its high content in vitamin C, minerals, phthalides and coumarins that have the ability to inhibit some disease processes.

RED BELL PEPER, GREEN AND YELOW

Bell pepper is a super powerful antioxidant vegetable and one of my favorites since it´s crispy and refreshingly delicious. You can always eat it raw in practically all meals, steamed or slightly roasted as you wish. Bell peppers are highly beneficial for your health thanks to its high content in carotenoids which have been widely studied, since red, green or yellow peppers contain about thirty different types of these carotenoids, all of them belonging to the same family of nutrients.

Tomatoes are the only fruits that can compete with bell peppers. It has been shown in different studies that the risk of suffering cardiovascular diseases, type II diabetes, macular degeneration and inflammation drops dramatically when bell pepper is consumed.

Along with these more complex or less known antioxidants, bell peppers are one of the vegetables that contain one of the most common vitamins such as: vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin E. In fact, bell peppers contain twice as much vitamin C as oranges and lemons. Bell peppers are also rich in some of the following antioxidants: flavonoids, luthelin, quercitin, hesperidin, carotenoids, alpha-carotenes, beta-carotenes, cryptoxanthin, lutein, zeaxanthin, ferulic acid, hydroxycinnamic acid and cinnamic acid.
